Life's more sane now...She went to the PD today..all was fine..phew. Tmr will be my postnatal checkup and the start of my post natal massage..
Milk flow increase to 80ml-100ml fr both sides now. Giving birth to Kirs took away 5kg. 7kg more to go!

09/06/09, lil Kirsten was born!

3rd day at hm with baby, Kirs is 5 days old! Still adjusting to breastfeeding, sore nips, baby's crying and haywired day n nite...but it is all worth it..

ok here's my birth story...

08/06/09

4pm - visit gynae n told him abt my discomfort( itchy rashes and insomnia)..he asked if i wanted to be induced since I've no labour signs or alternatively, I can actually endure the itch and wait for EDD. If no signs of labour, still need to be induced.
so Rie and I decided to go for it..was 1cm dilated anyway..Gynae then inserted prostin.

11pm - Had a heavy dinner and mild contractions on n off in the evening..still bearable. Prepare all things ready and headed to TMC to be admitted to ward.

09/06/09

1230am - gyane came n did VE. Inserted prostin again.

215am - contractions intense and unbearable. Ask when can administer epi or any form of pain relief..nurse told me only in delivery ward and my contractions were still irregular. so ignored me..

230am - super in pain...puked.. wake hubby up and told him i cant tahan anymore. pressed for nurse.

245am - nurse came in n check my dilation. 3cm..my thighs were shivering uncontrollably.she told me i'm in early stage of labour. proceeded to arrange me to delivery ward.

3am - wheeled to delivery ward. very painful oredi. midwives kept asking me to breathe n blow. helped me to change to gown. jus b4 changing i started to have a bloody show.

310am - 4cm dilated. cofirmed that i want epi. arranged for anaethetist to come.

324am - epi administered! i was going crazy..they gave me an oxygen mask and asked me to breathe n blow thru each contractions. I was on the urge to push..they said i cant..else i'll tear badly!

334am - numbness came in. checked 6cm dilate. shivering badly due to epi and feel nauseous.

710am - fully dilated..but waiting for bb to go lower.

9am - Gynae came and burst waterbag. practise pushing..very numb to push. 2 midwives pushed my tummy.i pushed like hell and with assisted vacuum, bb kirsten was born at 911am!

Kirsten weighs 2.85kg, head cir 33cm, length 49cm. She inherited our double eyelids(not obvious yet) and has a head of shiny black hair (thanks to rie genes). Everybody is raving about the hair. I cant tell who she looks like but more commented that she looks like daddy..hmmm...

She sucks real well and I called her a milk monster! My nips are bruised from her suction but I do love latching, cos this create a special bond between us. Now I tried to switch between latching and expressing cos pure latching is simply too taxing! I can express abt 50ml from both sides now..not too fantastic. Hope I can have better milk flow!

Medalist Singapore Championship 09

Over the last weekend,29th - 31st May, we went to the new shopping centre, iluma in Bugis. Dearie participated in the Medalist S'pore Championship!

Rie paired up with Shirley and signed up for 3 events....

Day 2

Event 1 : Medley Doubles, C Flight.

They were top in the group stage. In the knock out stage, they got the joint 5th placing!



Event 2 : Team Super Count Up, BC Flight.

They went into the semi-finals..a pity only got into the joint 3rd placing...




A display of their achievements! I'm so proud of rie, cos he only get into this darting game for less then a month!




Day 3

Event 3 : Team Air Attack, BC Flight.

They got knock out in the 1st stage. sadz.....



Event 4 : Elite Trios, BC Flight.

Then the last event of the competition. Rie partnered with Shirley and Woon, representing No Clue(a pub), team Matador Juniors and lost in the group stage.

Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and they played lotsa games! Experience gained too! Woohoo...

Kirsten's Crib...

Did up her crib during my free time.....The cot is quite big, occupying almost half of my walk in wardrobe area.. All in my fav pink and white...

Then collected the Braun thermoscan bought online..bought at $78++ retail at $100++

Then the Medela Mini electric breastpump that sister in law, Celia was able to help me get in the Tangs Sale. Retail at $193.50. was able to get it at 15% +10% discount. damage at $148. tried it out, the motor is a tad bit noisy..hope I can put it to good use else rie gonna niam cos i eva told him i'm only gonna get breastpump after birth..haha but the discount is too good to miss!

And finally Sophie teether from France! bought online too at $35. so cute.. will give out a squeaky noise...fifi tot its her toy! so excited to play fetch w me! faintz....

Well..really deprived of sleep these days...slept v little, v light....i wonder will kirs be born at nite? keke...then there's this H1N1 cases..haiz..i guess nobody will visit me n kirs in the hosp then... sob sob..

37 weeks 2 days...

Yes, Kirs will be a June baby....

Today's checkup is normal..no shock no surprise... mummy lost weight thou, abt 200g and ur weight is abt the same leh...2.6kg.
Dilation remains the same at abt 1cm and dr Ang predict that u will not be out this week..phew...
Ur position is good! head down and facing my butt..not engagd yet.

Great that everything's fine and as planned, but on the other hand, mummy aint feeling good...sleepless nites..insomnia..pekchek easily... then feel like puking..poor appetite...
haiz..hope endure 2 more weeks and everything will be fine liao...

Mummy to Kirs...

Mummy cant get to slp since 530am. recieved an sms fr auntie Dawn Tan on the arrival of lil Klara! So happy for her...but nervous for Mummy. Lil Klara was supposed to be due on the 8th of June. She sees the world at her 37th weeks!

After reading the sms, Mummy was tinkin alot of wat ifs........Then i can sense ur movments... U were dancing inside. Silently Mummy was telling u to stay in n absorb all my nutrients till at least early June. I hope u'll be an obedient ger and heard me...Daddy was sleepin so soundly, mummy doesnt want to disturb him so i tok to u thru telepathy ya? hehe

Some of the forum mummies have popped! Its rather exciting to hear all the success stories....Now mummy's really gonna be brave and withstands the pain of labour..the time is drawing near..

Lets jus both jia you k? U'll be a healthy baby and i'll be a brave mummy!
